Saint-Tropez is the one port on this coast where the road is the problem. It is ninety minutes from Antibes on a good day and a great deal longer on an August afternoon, when the approach into the village becomes a single queue. That is why we ask for the order the night before here even more firmly than elsewhere: the flowers travel in the cool of the early morning and arrive before the road fills.
We deliver to the Nouveau Port and the Vieux Port, across to Port Grimaud, and to boats lying in the bay by handing the boxes to a tender at a time you set.
Late September turns the whole village over to the regatta. Berths are full, the quay is closed to vehicles for long stretches, and everything has to be planned around the racing schedule rather than around the galley. It is very doable and we have done it for years, but it is planned in the spring, not on the day.
Out of season Saint-Tropez empties, and the boats that stay are usually there for a reason: a refit, an owner in residence, a long weekend that turned into a month. Those are often the easiest deliveries of the year and the ones people forget you can still get. We are open every day, including in February.
And when the boat leaves the Med entirely, we keep going. The winter service flies fresh flowers from the Dutch auction to the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia with 48 hours’ notice.
Order by 10pm for delivery the next morning. Saint-Tropez is ninety minutes from the workshop and the road into the village is the constraint, not the flowers, so the earlier we have the order the better the timing works.
