Capri and the Amalfi coast are not a morning run from Antibes. They are a plan. We will not pretend otherwise, because a supplier who says yes to everything without asking a question is a supplier who lets you down in August.
What we will say is that the answer is almost always yes, and that it is usually a better answer than the alternative. The alternative is a boat arriving in Positano with two days’ notice, finding a florist nobody on board has used, describing an owner's taste over the phone to a stranger, and hoping.
Two things make this straightforward that people expect to be difficult. The first is that there is no border problem: France, Italy and Spain are the same market, so nothing is declared, nothing is cleared and no box is opened. The second is that we already know what the boat has all season, which means the brief is one line rather than a conversation.
What it costs is time, so what we need is notice. Tell us the week before, not the night before, and it is arranged.
We have driven to Barcelona for a single delivery. It was not efficient and we would do it again, because the boat asked, and we say yes when we can.
